Forza Horizon 6: Best Way to Get Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R

If you are trying to get your hands on the classic "Hakosuka"—the 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R—in Forza Horizon 6, you are in luck. It is completely free, and you don’t have to grind millions of credits to buy it from the Auction House.

Instead, this legend is tucked away as a mid-game Barn Find. However, you can't just drive straight to the location the moment you start the game. Playground Games changed how Barn Finds work this time around, so you will need to trigger the rumor first.

Here is exactly how to unlock it and where to find it.

Step 1: Unlock Level 3 (Traveller)

In previous Horizon games, you could occasionally stumble into a barn by accident before the game even told you about it. In Forza Horizon 6, the barns will not show up on your map at all until you actively level up your campaign progress and trigger the specific map rumor.

To get the Skyline rumor, you need to earn enough points to increase your "Discover Japan" stamp level. You can check how close you are by opening the campaign menu and looking under the Collector's Journal.

You need to work your way through the initial tiers:

  • Visitor (Level 1)

  • Tourist (Level 2)

  • Traveller (Level 3)

You can build up your progress pretty naturally by playing the game. Just focus on hitting yellow map markers for Story missions, running touge or road races, delivering food, or buying up player houses. Once you officially hit Level 3 (Traveller), you will secure the Blue Stamp, and a purple search circle will pop up on your map for the Skyline.

Step 2: Navigate to the Nangan Region

With the rumor active, grab an all-wheel-drive or off-road vehicle and head down to the absolute southwest corner of the map into the Nangan region.

Finding the exact barn can be a bit tricky if you are just blindly driving through the trees, but you can find it easily by following these steps:

  1. Look at your map and locate the main, straight asphalt road running vertically along the western border of the Nangan region.

  2. Trace that road to where it intersects with a very twisty, winding road right in the center-south area of the region.

  3. Keep your eyes open near the cluster of houses right off that main road—you will spot an unmarked dirt path branching off right next to them.

  4. Follow this dirt track westward as it heads all the way down to the bottom of the hill.

  5. As you approach the bottom, ignore the fork that turns off to the right. Keep heading straight toward the cluster of trees at the absolute bottom of the hill, and you will see the barn tucked away inside them.

Drive up to the doors, and a cutscene will trigger showing your character pulling the dusty, classic Skyline out of hiding.

Step 3: Wait Out the Restoration

Once the cutscene ends, the car is sent straight to your garage, but it isn't ready to drive just yet. It is a garage find, after all, so it needs some major mechanical TLC.

The restoration process takes anywhere from two to six hours of real-world time. The game will give you an option to pay a hefty fee in credits to fast-track the repairs instantly, but do yourself a favor and save your money. There is absolutely no reason to waste your hard-earned credits here. Just go back to exploring Japan, finish up a few more race events, or work on your drift zones, and the car will finish restoring itself for free before you know it.

Once it's done, you'll get a notification, and this absolute masterpiece of JDM history will be sitting in your garage ready for a clean street build or a retro track tune.
